How Files and Usage Data Are Handled
Understand local image processing, AI requests to fal.ai, browser history, and privacy-conscious usage events at Free Photo Editor.
Local Tools and Browser Storage
Supported local image, vector, library, and video tasks run in your browser. Editing history and the photo library use local browser storage, including IndexedDB. This history does not automatically sync to another device; clearing site data removes local copies.
AI Processing
When you choose an AI operation, the image and prompt needed for that operation are sent through our server to fal.ai for processing. AI requests are not device-only processing. The provider handles those inputs under its own service and privacy terms; do not submit content you cannot share with that service. Video tools also download a fixed version of the FFmpeg engine from jsDelivr when needed. That software request shares normal connection information with the CDN; it does not upload your video to the CDN.
Anonymous Usage Events
We record the current page session’s usage events to understand visits, real task starts, results, failures, and result use. A random identifier kept only in page memory can connect those events within that page session; it is not stored as a tracking cookie or used to recognize returning people. Events can include the tool, a task or event ID, broad device type, available country information, and an evidenced source category. Unavailable information remains unknown. Analytics is suppressed when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
What Analytics Excludes
Analytics does not collect image or video contents, prompt text, sensitive filenames, full sensitive URL query strings, or device fingerprints. A file needed to process your request is not copied into an analytics event.
Cookies and Identity
We do not use tracking cookies for this anonymous measurement. A separate necessary, HttpOnly cookie protects access to your AI tasks and supports abuse prevention; it is not an analytics identifier. We do not claim to identify a natural person across devices or after browser data is cleared. Features that would require consent remain off without it; closing a banner is not used as a substitute for consent.
Daily Limits and Operational Records
The backend enforces the shared AI allowance and tracks task status so retries do not create duplicate charges. Operational request handling is separate from anonymous analytics. The current service has no payment or subscription workflow.
Feedback
The Contact form sends your message and optional reply email to our first-party service for private review by the site owner. It does not publish the message or send it to an AI model. Feedback has a 90-day retention policy. To limit spam, the service uses a daily keyed digest of connection information; it does not store the raw network address in the feedback record or use the digest for analytics.
Your Controls
Use the history or library controls to remove local items, or clear this site’s browser data. You can use the Contact form without providing an email. Avoid including sensitive information in optional feedback.
